Maverick Motorsports and the Bakersfield Kart Club (BKC) have teamed up to bring a new type of motor racing to Bakersfield. "Spec" kart racing will be added to the list of classes run by BKC. BKC races are run at Buttonwillow Raceway, a modern race facility located 28 miles Northwest of Bakersfield. |

"Spec" racing is one of the best values in racing. A complete race ready kart is only $1799.00.

 The premise of the class is equipment equality. As part of the rules, all racers must use the same "Maverick" chassis with a sealed engine. Tires and fuel are limited. With all drivers utilizing the same equipment racing is close. Races are won by driving more consistent with fewer mistakes than the competition.
